Hi. This site has some things connected to my fiction writing and journalism. Have a look.
What's Current

LUCKY'S STARS is the first book in my science fiction adventure series. It's due for release in October, 2025 on Amazon. It's inspired by the computer game Star Citizen, from Cloud Imperium Games.
FICTION

LUCKY'S STARS is my first novel and the first book in a series I'm writing. The story follows three bounty-hunting friends struggling against mysterious foes and long odds in the black of space and diverse space stations, planets and moons of Star Citizen. It is fan fiction that had a curious beginning. It grew out of a conversation I had with my friend Zero around 2019. I was disappointed with Star Citizen's pace of development. As Original Backers of the game (since 2012), we had ridden the highs and lows of the development saga at that point. But we were in a low point, and I said to him one time, "Why have we spent so much money and time on this game only to see it grow so slowly?"Zero's wise words were, "It's the dream. The dream of what the game might be someday."And it hit me how true that was. Even at that point, I could see the amazing potential of what Star Citizen could become. It captured my imagination and my hopes.A few years later, in 2022, I was remembering what Zero had said. And I thought, "What IS my dream for the game, exactly? What would it be like in my semi-perfect world?" And as I often do, I started to daydream about it. Then I thought it would be interesting to turn my daydream into a written story. So I wrote about five chapters. When I got some very positive feedback from a variety of people, I was encouraged to go on and turn it into a novel.About three years later, I was done a draft and started working with some editors, and now here we are with a book.“This is a work of fan fiction. All characters, places, events, ships, and ship designs, and other content originating from Star Citizen, Squadron 42, or other content produced or created by its publishers or developers, are the property of Cloud Imperium Rights LLC and Cloud Imperium Rights Limited.”
STAR CITIZEN

Star Citizen really isn't just a video game. It isn't just a massively multi-player space world. In my opinion, it's the most ambitious universe simulation project ever. When I saw Chris Roberts' 2012 pitch video (below), I had my questions, but there was no question I was going to back this creative dream. There have been ups and downs over the years, and I don't think it's perfect. But looking at what it is now, I am excited about what's to come.I've had hundreds of hours of fun and adventure playing SC with friends. And as I've said, the game has inspired my writing.
JOURNALISM
My first career path was in journalism, then I fell in love with teaching high school students. Now I have the best of both worlds, teaching journalism to teens. I also do some writing on the side now and then.
